I’m not going to sugar coat this by telling you that I love ♥, love ♥, love ♥ drinking wheatgrass juice. I just can’t lie. So I am just letting you know up front that it’s not easy for me to drink wheatgrass juice while others can drink it with absolutely no problems at all. I find it a little bit of a challenge. Whew!!! I am so glad that I got that off my chest. I know there is a lot of you out there that are just like me (at least I hope I’m not the only one) who finds it difficult to swallow.
So here it is. The moment that I have been waiting for. Time to start feeding the juicer. As the juicer is squeezing out juice from the wheatgrass a strong smell of fresh green juice fills the air. It’s the kind of smell that you get when you empty the bag of your grass cutter after freshly cutting the grass.
So now I take my very first sip and my face just crinkles up with disgust. Thoughts are running through my mind. I’m thinking how do people seriously drink this stuff on a daily basis? And some not only do a shot of it but instead drink a full glass of it. I started to doubt my ability to consume this bright, rich, green drink. Now I am a little disappointed because I really wanted to reap all of the benefits of chlorophyll that wheatgrass juice provides. Nobody gave me any kind of waring that wheatgrass juice tastes really nasty.
My next experiment was to try juicing the wheatgrass with some carrots, apples, and celery to camouflage the taste of the wheatgrass. Again, I didn’t care for the taste. This time instead of just drinking a small shot of wheatgrass juice, NOW I have to drink a tall glass of juice consisting of vegetable juice with a wheatgrass flavor in every sip. Yuck! The carrots, apples and celery really didn’t cover up the taste as much as I would have liked it to. Every sip I took still had the taste of wheatgrass. I’m convinced now that it is much better get it over with in a small shot rather than sipping a tall glass of it.
So here is my remedy. Slice up either a lemon, lime or an orange. You only need one or two slices. I just wanted to make the picture look pretty.
Bite into what ever fruit slice you pick, take a drink of the wheatgrass juice, and follow it with another bite of the fruit slice. Now that was much better. It’s not perfect, but it is a definite improvement.
Try all three slices and pick what works best for you. You can even put a dash of salt on your wrist like you did when you drink a shot of tequila. Those tequila days are all behind me now though. I traded tequila shots for wheatgrass shots instead.
So tell me, do you like the taste of wheatgrass juice or is it just me?
Do you have any other remedies to drinking wheatgrass juice?
Have A Happy Juicing Day!!!!
